Harold and Marilyn Rinehart founded the ranch
in 1951. From 1953 to 1969 they raised Herefords. However
in 1969 they became interested in Limousin cattle, which were just then
being introduced into the United States from France. They switched
over to raising Limousin cattle and by 1977 Pompadour Hills ranch had
the largest herd of registered Limousin cattle in the United States.
Brady and Wendi have continued raising quality commercial
Limousin cattle.
Limousin cattle are a good breed for premium beef. Pompadour Hills
is a supplier to major packing houses, and to specialty packers who
deal in superior beef.
